SITUATION: SAT Subject Scores and Colleges.

In October I took the SAT subject tests and got
Math II: 750
Physics: 690
US History: 690

The main reason for this was a significant personal problem that kept me more than slightly distracted during the test.

Nevertheless I sent the scores to the colleges I applied to.
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UM- Ann Arbor
UI- Urbana/Champaign
Cornell
Duke
NYU
Georgia Tech
Harvard

My friends convinced me that I could do better so on their advice I took the test again last month. My scores this time?

Math II: 800
Physics: 800

So now Im in a dilemma. All of the schools I applied to have confirmed their receipt of my previous test scores. Should I bother to send in my Math II and Physics scores from January? Will my previous scores hurt my chances of admission even though I got perfect scores the second time around? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

(Other info)
GPA: 3.56/4.56
Class rank: 88/476 in highly competitive NC school
10 AP classes
13 honors classes
9 regular classes

Definitely send in your new scores - what’s the point of retaking the test and getting a perfect score if you don’t let anyone know about it?

You should definitely send in your new scores. Colleges use your best scores to evaluate you. The problem is that those scores might not reach all your colleges in time if they weren’t already designated as score recipients.

definitely! colleges understand that your scores improve and that you won’t do perfectly the first time.
