I got into Sixth College as a human bio major…and i didnt know much about any of the colleges so i just ranked them in random order and this is what i got =T. I was pretty excited until i read all of these threads about the colleges at UCSD, and honestly i’m not that excited anymore… the dorms, the small number of people…im planning on transferring to another college within UCSD. The Admissions office told me that as long as i get good grades my freshman year and can prove that i can graduate 2 quarters earlier, i can switch colleges. So can anyone convince me about this staying in this college?

I wouldn't worry too much about switching colleges. From what I've heard, sixth college is one of the more richer colleges, with pretty easy GE's, and the people at sixth college are generally quite satisfied with it. Plus, sixth college is very close to Price Center. You would end up attending classes with people from other colleges anyways. Instead of worrying about switching out, I would try to make the most out of the college experience and experience the many advantages sixth college's curriculum/community has to offer.

Has anyone gotten a firsthand look at the sixth college dorms? Are they new, since the college is new? Are they small, medium, large, etc.? What are they like? How many students are in the suites?

Here comes me, to the rescue! I just visited sixth college yesterday, so I'll upload some pictures online for your viewing pleasure of the dorms. It's suite style setup: They look like cabins kind-of, and its a couple cabins spread out across a grassy field.

You walk into the "cabin", and there is a common room connecting three rooms, so six people. And theres generally four common rooms to a each big "cabin" building, so 24 people to each little building. They looked like nice facilities, with a kitchen attached to the common room, but its nothing like a proper "residence hall". It's definitely an acquired taste, but most people in it tend to love it.
