Sixth college orientation

hey current or incoming sixth college students:

what are the dates for freshmen orientation for sixth college? some college like ERC and Muir have theirs in mid or late june, but when i look at the calendar of sixth college, it only said sep 15 and 16... the orientation is suppose to help you with class advising, but how is it after class enrollment. does anyone know any other dates in June? Thanks for sharing

It is only Sept 15th and 16th. They don’t help you with class advising in person. You’ll get an email from academic advising for which classes they recommend.

is it worth going to orientation… i looked over ERC’s orientation thingy and i felt like meh! i dont see a point of going… is it really worthwhile?

Yeah! Its definitely useful to go to orientation. I’m a Sixth college student myself and it really sets the tone for the whole year. You meet a lot of amazing new people through orientation and it helps you just get adjusted to college life. It sounds really cheesy but its definitely worth it. Personally I really enjoyed orientation week.

and when do you guys think it is the best time to go… ERC has four dates
June 16 - 17, 2011 (Thursday-Friday)

June 20 - 21, 2011 (Monday-Tuesday)

June 23 - 24, 2011 (Thursday-Friday)

September 15 - 16, 2011 (Thursday-Friday)…

so which is the most worthwhile to go too… like not too much of a crowd, etc etc

I completely agree with @monkiswim10. I thought orientation would be 2 days of awkwardness, but it was so much fun and I’ve met a lot of new friends, some which I still keep in touch with today. Another advantage of Sixth orientation is you get to move in a couple days earlier (assuming you’ll live on campus). You get to move in before orientation. I definitely recommend that you attend.
