SJSU: Safety

bummmmmmmmp

Did you apply to UC’s? You can definitely get into better schools

gee thanks

Other than completing (w a C or better) all the a-g requirements, SJSU uses only the CSU index to rank applicants. It includes only your M&R SAT scores and your 10-11 college prep classes. Read about it here:

The link above will show you last year’s threshold my major. There are a couple of majors at SJSU that are really competitive (computer science is one of them) that require an index around 4000. For CS, even with your SAT - you’d need a 3.25 CSU GPA. If you applied to another major and completed your a-g coursework, you should be admitted.

As for other schools, there are cerainly many CSUs within your reach. The UCs and many privates will want to understand the disconnect between your near perfect SAT and mediocre GPA. Generally, the UCs would want a pretty compelling story to back up a 3.2 GPA. You don’t give enough info to assess how compelling yours might be.

??? your SAT score is amazing. SJSU is a safety.

bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmppppppppp

your SAT is fantastic, definitely apply to better schools dude. SJSU should be your backup plan for other better schools
