SJSU or small liberal art college?

So this is regarding safeties, and the small liberal arts college would be Juniata College in Pennsylvania. I live in San Jose so of course SJSU is the other option. I will most likely be going into college as pre dental and majoring in some biological science. Also, for Juniata I am relying on merit aid since it is expensive but my stats are above and beyond the average and I found out they are very generous with merit aid so I don't think I have to worry about the price. Also, I would love to get out of the bay area and live in the east for a while. How are each of the college's pre dent/pre med programs? Which one should I go to if had to go to one of my safeties?
Thanks for any help!

Have you checked the net price calculators to get estimates of financial aid for your situation?

Juniata has a nice science building and I think they are pretty good in biological sciences. We visited last summer and it is about as opposite to the San Jose area as you can get. Very rural, very small-town. Lots of local Pennsylvania students. They do give very good aid.

I think you should definitely visit if you are considering it because it would be such a huge change. But, college is the time for changes so if you visit and like it… go for it!

Juniata’s record with medical and dental schools is superb - absolutely incomparable to SJSU (just the 6-year graduation rate is in the 45% range for SJSU vs. above 75% for Juniata - less than a chance out of 2 to graduate college in 6 years, vs. 3/4 odds, and Juniata is not much more selective than SJSU). A large majority of students go there to study the sciences. And clearly it’d be a great change from the Bay area :p. Do you like snow? Hiking, the outdoors? You would also likely go home with friends from the Mid-Atlantic area for Fall Break.
