sjsu vs sdsu

<p>hey guys
i was thinking which of these is a better university for computer science</p>

<p>bump :(</p>

<p>San Jose by a long shot, primarily because of all of the computer companies in the local area.</p>

<p>Both are good. SJSU however is also recruited by small Silicon Valley companies. </p>

<p>I’d also say SJSU.</p>

<p>thanks a lot guys made my decision simple
:)</p>

<p>SJSU doesn’t run away with it that easily. True, they do live in the shadow of Google, Facebook, HP, etc but, they are far from the only place those companies recruit. The overall school and student experience goes to SDSU.<br>
Also, many wash out of CS - the rest of the school counts too.</p>

<p>If you get into both, take a tour and imagine the next 4 years of your life before you decide. </p>

<p>that a better idea :)</p>

<p>thats a better idea</p>

<p>Younger son admitted to both SJSU and SDSU last year. After visiting both campuses, chose SDSU for CS. I really liked the CS program at SJSU, but not the campus. SDSU was hands down his ultimate choice.</p>

<p>very helpful :)</p>

i got into sjsu, sdsu which one is better rutgers

SDSU is stronger overall; SJSU is stronger in CS specifically, but a large number of students admitted to CS don’t make it and are then stuck in not-so-good majors with so-so students. So it depends how much math you’ve had (up to precalc? Calc? With Bs’? A’s?), how much programming experience you already have (expected), etc.

Weather and cost heavily favor SJSU vs Rutgers. Why would someone from CA ever want to go to New Jersey?

maths calc with A in 3 terms
and programming we have done full java and i have managed to get 6 A in all terms

by the way i am an international student
money is not a problem at all

but by main aim is to post graduate from a good university and try and transfer to a better university like ucla or something so which university is preferred out of these sjsu, rutgers nb and sdsu

If you want to end up transferring to UCLA or Berkeley or UCSD I would suggest going to a community college near that area. For UCLA I would go to Santa Monica city college and for berkeley I would go to berkeley city college. It’s way easier to transfer and you’ll spend less money getting through your general Ed requirements. As long as you meet a minimum GPA (3.5ish) you can easily transfer to one of those colleges from a CC but not necessarily through a cal state. I would look into it at least.

are you a transfer from a community college or applying to be a 1st year student?
For CS, in any case, I’d pick either SJSU or SDSU.

i am applying for a 1st year cs

but are there no chances to transfer from non cc? as i have applied to none of the cc pls help I’m very confused
