SJSU vs. SFSU

It's currently my first year as a freshman at SJSU. Things are going by smoothly.

I am considering transferring to SFSU next year, but I'm not sure if this is the wisest decision. My parents were already eager to kick me out of the house, so transferring to SFSU would accomplish that for them. Plus I'm eager to leave the house and live on my own. Also, my girlfriend is going to SFSU.

However, the main thing I'm asking is that would it be wise to transfer? How does SFSU compare to SJSU academically. If i go to SJSU, will it be a total downgrade, or even will I be transferring to a better school? Or are they both the same. I plan to do something business related, but i am not declaring my major quite yet. I may even do communications or something.

I'm pretty sure they are about the same academic wise. I think SFSU might be a little better

If you're hoping to live and work, in the medium term, in SF, then I'd go to SFSU. If you're hoping to live and work, in the medium term, in the silicon valley area, I'd go to SJSU.

bump please

bump pleeaaase!!

Depending on major, for engineering, SJSU is definitely better than SFSU since it's located in the heart of Silicon Valley.

In terms of "prestige" and intangibles, the two institutions are virtually equal. They're both solid urban four-year public universities with large commuter populations. I'd say the choice comes down to which one fits your needs best.

Talk to the professors in your chosen departments. Which one has smaller class sizes, the course options you prefer, etc.?
