Skateboarding at Yale?

I wonder if there are any skaters at Yale.
Are there any good places to skateboard?
So curious! hee hee thanks.

dang… anyone :[?

i see some people skateboarding up and down broadway and on old campus

How does that work in the winter?

You haver to change the wheels to little skis…

pRhyme, I’ll try to give you a serious answer…I was just on campus and there were some people with skateboards making their way around. Biggest obstacles: many of the sidewalks are kind of irregular- made of flagstone, brick, and so on. Not sure how this impacts the riding experience. Also, the campus is pretty condensed so some walkways are tight so not much room to pass on a skateboard or bike, for that matter. Most people walk.

Can you skate on this, and through this passage without crashing spontaneously, or into someone else?

Thanks a lot, riverrunner!
The picture looks gorgeous. I would kill to have an opportunity to skate there, haha.
It seems like it would be pretty difficult, though. Still, I love challenges!

I think the real issue for a skater is whether a place tolerates skating on its hard assets, meaning stairs, railings and other fun stuff. The answer at Yale is no, they aren’t particularly tolerant about kids flipping boards on railings for tricks. Can you board around? Sure but I don’t see you trying to leap up on the women’s memorial or off the railings in front of Sterling without serious intervention.

I’m currently a junior and live 20 minutes away from Yale and have spent most of my weekends of my 16 years (considering that both of my parents graduated from Yale and I lived across the street from the divinity school until I was 4 years old) there whether that means taking piano lessons, eating (yum), shopping (a lot haha), performing, drawing the campus, etc. but I have to say that I have yet to see anyone skateboard around campus!
Could be possible but yes, some sidewalks are a little iffy and there’s a lot of activity with pedestrians who would definitely get in the way (like me :P)
You could try skateboarding on the green during your free time though.
