IBLinux, I see you in many forums around here. Really glad that you made it… CONGRATS!!!

Oh wow, congrats IBLinux! Perhaps now you can ask in the Skidmore forum as to what happens to intl students during summer/winter breaks :P

If Skidmore works like Kenyon, then it’s entirely possible that they send acceptances first, denials next and waitlists after that. GOD. This does not bode well for me :(

@IBLinux Congratulations you deserve it man

No emails for me though

I am international and no email yet.

IBLinux,

congrats and where are you from?

*IBinLux. Just sayin’ :P

Wow! Thanks guys! For those who have been reading all of my posts since the beginning of the college application process, you will know I’ve had my troubles. However, this acceptance letter is definitely uplifting my spirits! Skidmore looks like an AWESOME place!

For those internationals who haven’t received an email, I think there is still hope! I just sent an email to the coordinator of International Admissionsat at Skidmore asking him whether all of the admitted international applicants have been sent an email yet. I will inform you all as soon as I get a response.

With regards to konspace’s question: I am French and American but I live in Luxembourg (I feel more as an international than as an American though). And the truth is that its even more complicated than that! But I don’t think I should spill out my entire life on the internet.

Again, good luck everybody!

I hope it’s alphabetically ordered! Congrats IBinLux!

A guy in my country received a waitlist. His last name starts with B.

Hope it’s alphabetically ordered

HMMMMM. I doubt it. My name would be prolly at the top lol.

Congratulations fosterte, I remember you from the Macaulay forum and I’m glad to hear that your son got into Skidmore too. Hopefully, I’ll be next lol. If I do get in then I’d definitely choose it over Macaulay at Hunter.

No snail mail here, so that definitely means it’s tomorrow…I don’t know if I’m ready for this haha

Thanks, ivyvision. I have a hunch you’ll be getting an acceptance too. At this point, I think Macaulay at Hunter is still in the lead for us, largely because it would be very difficult for us to pass up such a great deal, but we’re still planning to attend one of Skidmore’s accepted students day to see for sure. The financial aid they offered is definitely appreciated!

I guess that means I’m getting mine via snail mail then, as I’m a US citizen living abroad… Congrats to all of you who got accepted!

I’m international and I still haven’t received an email. Should I just expect bad news at this point?

No no, one person sends out emails to 1500 students. Be patient. It’s done manually.

The phrase from the admissions office was that all international e-mails would be completed March 25. It is only ten in the morning at Skidmore, so they have all day to work on them still. Hang tight another seven hours! Good luck. I hope you get in.

^ Yes, don’t worry if you haven’t yet gotten an e-mail. Even though S got his snail mail packet on Saturday, as of last night, he hadn’t yet gotten an e-mail either. (And he probably just got his packet already because we live so close by.)

Recieved it in the mail today… Waitlisted
1400/2050 SATs
3.6 UW GPA, 3.8 W
2 Sport Captain

I’m an international student from Spain (see: white European) who just got accepted early and invited to the Discovery Tour for ALANAS (African-Americans, Latinos, Asians, etc.) and, honestly, I’m pretty confused… I did check “Hispanic (including Spain)” on the Common App but I made it clear that I’m from Spain elsewhere. Skidmore seems cool and I’d love to go to one of those college weekends but I think it would be somewhat awkward for me! Anyone else in this position?

@ProvStudent: how many APs did you take, and did you have any additional ECs?

@ inaweoflacs…I’m pretty sure they are not grouping by skin color. You probably received that invite because Spanish is your first language and you’re international. You can just skip that and just go to the regular admitted student thing if you prefer. Remember, now that you’re accepted, it’s all about YOU…you don’t have to do anything you’re uncomfortable with.
