skidmore/mount holyoke dance program - which one's better???

Hello! I got accepted into Skidmore and Mt. Holyoke College - which one has a better dance program? Please, if anyone knows anything about either or both school's dance programs, tell me the pros and cons of each!

Much appreciated =D

School for school Skidmore is better. But with Mt. Holy. you have the five schools to choose from. I would choose. Mt. Holy

Before you commit, check Mount Holyoke out very carefully, and look at the floors! (They might have changed.) Visited a couple of years ago (after acceptance) and saw a dance performance. A former professional apprentice (in a good ballet company), who was a student there, said she’d expected to dance, but after two weeks decided to join the equestrian team instead, although she’d never ridden before.

It seemed to be a good liberal arts school.

Thank you very much for the replies!

I understand that MHC is part of the 5-college consortium, so as dancerinpa mentioned I have four other schools to take classes at. How about the dance programs at Hampshire, Smith, Amherst, and U-Mass? How do their dance programs compare to Skidmore’s?

I am very familiar with at least 3 of the dance teachers at 5 college dance department, and I assure you they are excellent–among the best modern dance teachers I have ever encountered. PM me for more info. The director of the program, Jim Coleman in particular, is brilliant, and I would trust his judgment on training and selection of colleagues. I don’t know the program, or the quality of the students, but from looking at the faculty, it’s high quality.
