Skidmore

my son is considering skidmore can anyone give me feedback on this school? we are from the south and had never heard of this school or city. thanks.

My son graduated in 2010. Loved Skidmore and Saratoga Springs. The town appreciates the college, and takes good care of the students. As nice a college town as I can imagine.

In one of his majors, he had more courses taught by adjuncts than I wish had been the case. But he also had classes of 2 students with a full professor, and developed some wonderful intellectual relationships and a joy in learning.

Depending on where you are, the logistics of flying to and from Albany might be daunting; I have in mind that many students catch a 7am flight from Albany to get to a hub that will get them home to parts of the south. And perhaps schedules have improved by now.

My son just started his second year and loves Skidmore. The kids, teachers and facilities are all great. Alot of Skidmore kids come from private schools. Since he went to public school he complains that the work load is more than he expected. I was surprised that as a second year student he has a single room this year. Skidmore has exceeded all our expectations.

My daughter is a freshman and has been on campus for one month. She loves her roommates, dorm, and city of Saratoga Springs, and she is working hard in her classes. She applied early decision and so far doesn’t regret doing so one bit.
