I love to ski and im having some trouble locating good engineering schools close as i can get to a ski slope. Does anyone know of any? Also note that no cross country skiing.

Colorado School of Mines...duh.

actually there is RIT, they even have a ski club that has over half of its student body participating in it, great engineering and technical school too

Dartmouth.

McGill (Montreal, Canada)
Clarkson

RPI, Cornell, Lehigh, Clarkson.

Univ. of Utah and BYU. They didn't hold the Winter Olympics there for nothing.

Tons of Vermont schools, mostly state schools, but skiing is one of the best there.

I was going to suggest Clarkson, but it depends on how you define "good."

Syracuse U--very hilly
Ithaca College too.

MIT has a couple of ski clubs that transport students up to New England mountains.

Boston isn't terribly close to the good Eastern mountains, but my fiance (MIT student) and I (MIT alum) go to Maine every winter weekend to go skiing, and it's not too bad a drive. :)

Well i am a good student (3.8 NHS interact sadd sports ect.) and i want to go to a good engineering program. The only one i knew had engineer and skiing was cornell and i did look into it, but cornell is really selective and an ivy league school. I am going to apply there next year but i was looking for some other school that may be a little easier to get into and a less ex*****ve too. Also i would rather not travel across the country, I live in pittsburgh, so i am looking at the New England ones.

Colorado College, but thats mainly liberal arts

UC Davis is very close to Lake Tahoe, but it would be big $ for you/OOS.

In your case, I would use Clarkson (in NY) as a safety or near-safety.

University of Vermont has an engineering school that is quite well respected. It's located in Burlington which is a wonderful college city (walking distance to the downtown area), and you can't beat the skiing.

UC- boulder

A little bit lower down the engineering prestige chain (but still solid programs), a few ski-friendly schools would be Montana State, Colorado State, or U of New Mexico.

Colorado-Boulder
Utah

Sierra Nevada College www.sierranevada.edu/
