skiing

Current dartmouth students:
if you would estimate, about how large is the group of kids that go skiing on a weekly basis? (e.g weekends/ week-long/ weekend trips)

I have no idea. Honestly, I have no idea. A lot of people ski/learn to ski.

^can anyone else answer this? this can get me a sense of how many ppl avoid the frats

That is not a good measure of the number of people who don’t go to frats. Plenty of people ski and go to frats.

If you’re really opposed to going to frats, there’s nothing that can stop you from having two groups of friends – one with which you hang out during the day and one with which you hanging out at night.

That’s what I do. The group during the day tends to be more into sports, girls, etc., while the one at night is a bit more cerebral. It’s nice having both.

I don’t think it will give you that sense. Skiing is in the daytime and people go to frat parties at night. If you mean because it will give you a sense of outdoors type and they don’t drink, I think that would be wrong. Personally, I don’t drink, I do ski, I plan to ski a few times at Dartmouth, but the thing is, people that do ski will go other places to ski if they get a nice long weekend or a good deal. I have not skiied at Dartmouth, but I am from the west and ski out here and know there is no comparison. Will it be fun, yes, I will take ski classes for pe, but don’t see myself hanging out at the ski area. Will I join a frat? I don’t know that yet. I do think there are other things to do beside hang out in a frat basement, but I guess I will wait and see. I hope you do too, don’t make your decision based on others. Go to Dimensions and see what is happening besides the frats. Good luck in your decision, I am an ED acceptee so I have made my decision and I am happy!

Skiing is very easy to do at Dartmouth. My son went both during the week and on weekends. The bus comes regularly. You can also take skiing/boarding for your PE class. This winter the skiing was amazing.

can someone give me an estimate…? or just percentage-wise how many people do u see skiing on a weekly basis
