Skill Needed For AP Chem

Is Alegbra II really needed for AP Chem, my teacher said it was a must but I heard other wise from former students. Any suggestions?

No, but if you're not a good enough math student to have taken Algebra 2 by 9th or 10th grade, then AP Chem is not for you.

My school doesn't allow anyone to skip ahead in math or I would have already taken it. So if I have a pretty good grasp on alegbra concepts and have taken physics classes do you think I can do it without Alegbra II.

What classes are you taking if Algebra II in 9th or 10th grade is considered "skipping ahead"?

But, you should be fine. The math in Chem is pretty basic- as long as you've grasped all of the basic math concepts of all of your math classes so far. There really isn't that much correlation between Algebra II and Chem anyway- the math you use is all pretty much basic Algebra and equations (and you don't even have to remeber those!).

Hardest math in AP Chemistry: quadratic equations, logs.

It does help to know calculus to dervive some of the equations. It'll probably help you understand the material a little bit better, but you can still do well without knowing calc.
