Skipped 10 questions in the math SAT????Nervous!!

Hello, I took my first SAT's on June and i am a Junior(about to be a senior). I had no idea what to expect and i did terrible on my math section. My first section was grid-ins and i missed 6 question in that particular section. I do terrible on timed tests. Then in another section i missed 3 questions and there were a total of 20 questions. In the last section i missed like 1 question. With these omitted question and assuming i had 2 or 3 wrong over all on all sections, what is the Maximum score i can get??? I tried to skip the hard ones but the grid in section messed the test up :( So guys what's maximum score i can get with omitted and wrong questions???

Thankyou so much for your answers!!

bummmpppp need answers!! so nervous!!

*terribly (sorry I couldn’t help it)

Honestly, it’s hard to give you an estimate because your original post is a tad all over the place, but you can see the curves from the [older] Red Book (official ACT practice book) here: [ACT Curves from Red Book - Imgur](<a href=“Imgur: The magic of the Internet”>ACT Curves from Red Book - Album on Imgur)

Just so you know, first section on the ACT is English (75 questions), the second is Math (60 questions), the third is Reading (40 questions), and the last section is Science (40 questions).

I’m guessing that you can get up to a 30 composite score on this test but I really don’t know.

If you plan on studying for the next ACT, I definitely recommend buying the book for ~$20 [Amazon.com: The Real ACT, 3rd Edition (Real ACT Prep Guide) (9780768934328): Inc. ACT: Books](http://amzn.com/076893432X) on Amazon.

How do you think you did on the other sections? While a low math score might not be the best thing, if you’re trying to get into colleges that aren’t real selective and your total score is high enough, it might be okay.

If you want to retake it, study before hand for a couple months and try a few practice tests. The book I used was [Amazon.com: The Official SAT Study Guide, 2nd edition (9780874478525): The College Board: Books](http://www.amazon.com/The-Official-SAT-Study-Guide/dp/0874478529/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1339521441&sr=8-1&keywords=sat+prep)
and it was pretty good. I took both the SAT and ACT; the SAT was easier, imho.

Good luck!

I think the maximum score you can get is 650, but that depends on whether some of the questions you missed were grid-in questions. I think it also depends on how well other kids did at that time, since the scores are curved.

Anyway, good luck!

Yes, the most questions i missed were grid-in questions ( about 6 of them).

Ahh SAT, not ACT. I was confused because the ACT was given more recently.

The sat is really curved, predictions here may make you surprised when you see your real score. Best thing to do is pray.

Will i be able to get at least a 600 or would it be in the 500’s :(

You’ve put yourself at a 640 already by skipping 10.

I am pretty confident i missed about 2 or 3 overall on all sections. How many do i have to have right to get an at least a 600?? Thank you so much for your answers!!!

The math section doesn’t have a big curve like critical reading so probably 500-700

Aren’t the scores scaled, lets say i get a raw score of 38 or 39, what is the score that i will be able to get??

So you’re saying you skipped 10 questions and missed 6-9? I’d estimate high 500s; no higher than a 620.

Use this: http://www.erikthered.com/tutor/SAT-Released-Test-Curves.pdf

Raw score around 38-39 usually ends up being low 600’s, but can be anywhere from 590-630 based on old curves.

Skip 10 AND miss 9…ouch!.. but you are guaranteed like 550-580

good luck with your scores. you’ll probably get something around 500+

Sounds like you did a lot better as you settled in. You should take it again.
