Skipped Grades & Ap Exams : HELP.

I’m not trying to sound arrogant or rude and if I do, forgive me

I’m very upset because I’ll have 7 Aps by the end of my junior year but in reality, i’ll have 7 by my sophomore year because i skipped 8th grade. I’m kicking myself, asking WHY DID I SKIP when I would look pretty smart having 7 by the end of my sophomore year, and National Merit Schol. by junior year, compared to the senior year when I’ll actually have it. :frowning:

I didn’t know CC and self-studying until the end of my soph year, when it was too late. sigh Regret…

I still have pretty advanced classes (compared to some) but I don’t know, I’m thinking maybe that my chances for college are narrowed because of my “lack of advancement” so to say.

Bleh. Can anybody make me feel better?
Will it make my chances for an Ivy, slimmer?
I’m drunk in the past what-ifs and could-haves…

just explain this in an essay or note in your application - maybe even from a school official. To me having skipped a grade > a few AP classes while being at the same grade level.

I don't really understand why you would have had 7 APs by sophomore year if you hadn't skipped a grade. You're still spending 4 years in high school, right? (Unless your school offered to let you take AP classes in middle school and you decided to advance a grade level instead.)

I think it’s because he self-studied them (so if he hadn’t skipped, he would have taken them while in 10th grade).
I’m in a similar situation, fwiw, and I’m also curious how colleges look at this/how best to mention skipping a grade on an application.

Your guidance counselor can easily explain your situation in his/her recommendation.
