I'm currently a freshman in high school. By the end of the year, I will have enough credits to be a junior. I know that skipping my sophomore year would probably not help me get accepted into colleges, but would it count against me? While I will have all of the necessary credits I would need to skip a year, I haven't yet taken all of the classes that I would take in my sophomore year. However, my plan is to take those classes online during this school year. Basically, I would take four years of classes in three. Would colleges have a negative view on that?

Not directly, but IMO there’s no good reason to graduate early, especially if it would require taking online classes. Four years will give you more time to show leadership/commitment in your ECs and write amazing essays…and not doing these things can definitely hurt you.

Most high school graduation requirements aren’t that extensive, and you should really be exceeding them anyway. If you run out of AP classes to take at your high school, consider dual enrollment.
