So I took Geometry as a Freshman and now I'm taking Intermediate Algebra(which is Algebra
2) at the local college this summer. Should I skip to Pre-Cal as a Sophomore? How hard is Pre-Cal compared to Alg.2 & Geometry? I got a solid A in Geometry and I know I'll finish with an A in Alg. 2 as well.

I really want to do Calc AB as a Junior so I can clear my schedule Senior Year for higher level courses. Is skipping a bad idea? I've heard from my counselor that I can't merge my college transcript with my high school one, so colleges won't see I took Alg.2. Is there any way to merge them or at least let the colleges know that I took the class? I live in the Central California region. All of your guys' feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Why would you not do precalc sophomore year? Even if you did skip algebra II, as long as you do well in your other math classes, colleges will not care at all. Why did you take the class if you were not planning on using it to get ahead?

I took precalc this past school year as a sophomore. Honestly, I thought that it was one of the easiest math classes I’ve ever taken. I think that is probably because a lot of it was review, and I had just taken college algebra/trig the semester prior to precalc. I wouldn’t think it would matter to colleges if you skip Alg II, it might even look better to colleges being that you skipped a math class (As long as you do good in precalc of course).

Check with the colleges you’re interested in. Many will specifically require algebra 2.

When you apply to colleges, you are required to send in transcripts from high school and any colleges you have attended. Algebra II won’t be on your high school transcript, but they will see Intermediate Algebra on your college transcript. So it’s not a problem at all that it’s not on your high school transcript. Even if this wasn’t a requirement, most schools would probably assume you completed Algebra I & II in middle school which is not entirely uncommon. I took Geometry in 8th grade and no college has found it odd at all that I lack geometry on my high school transcript.

Yes, you should take pre-calc next year. It would be stupid to repeat Algebra II, it’d be difficult to skip it and go straight to Calc, going to Stats and then going back to pre-calc would be hard. So just take pre-calc. It has a lot of Algebra II review so you should be good there. Then there’s trigonometry which is pretty similar to geometry, if you did good in geometry you’ll be fine. Then you start on some calculus topics like limits which can be tricky but if you have a good aptitude for math you’ll be okay.
