Skipping Calculus Honors Going Straight to AP Calculus AB?

My school has Calculus Honors as well as AP Calculus AB. Everyone normally takes Calculus Honors AND AB since we have block scheduling, but our schedule is being changed next year and we can only take one math.

I didn't do well in Pre-Calc (I got a 78/80). I could have done better but I was lazy and I didn't really do any work (I got mostly A/mid B's in all the other maths before this). So I'm wondering if I should take Calculus Honors or just go right into AP Calc AB. I could also take Calculus Honors online over the summer, but obviously I would learn much more in school. What do you guys recommend? How much Pre-Calc knowledge is required for AP Calc AB? Thanks! (PS I'm going to be a junior next year)

I’m only an eight grader, but I think that if you do the summer course, you’ll be better prepared for calculus ab.

Your are lucky to have Honors Calculus in your school. In the end it’s all up to you. Do you want college credit for Calculus or not? I don’t know if there is any significant difference between AP Calculus AB and Honors Calculus, but either one will do you well in the long run.
