I am a senior and have been skipping my first block class more than half the days that it is in session. Anyone else skip a class frequently?

^Don't you auto-fail if you miss a certain amount of days? (More than 9 or 10 I think?)

No. I take naps in Physics, but I never skip class.

yea same here

senior, second semester and I've already been accepted so I have no motivation to even finish high school. I haven't gone to biology class for 9 straight days, today I went though after my teacher pulled me out of my other classes to talk to me.

I've skipped twice in my high school career, both times this year. The first time I skipped the whole day because I just couldn't finish my homework, so I went to Panera and did the hw that was due that day there. The other time was for just a class period since I was totally not prepared for the math quiz (had done any of the homework for two weeks) and was on 0 hours of sleep because of rehearsals. Now that I think about it, it's so ridiculous because I'm skipping classes because of school, not because I just feel like it.

Oh and these two days ruined my perfect attendance in high school (I'm a junior) =P

I am excited for senior skip day next year though!

pretty much same as you two. on a "good week" i skip ~7 classes. i don't count skiping adv. weight training(needed it to graduate) as the teacher is cool and doesn't make me absent.

however, on a bad stretch i skip more than i'm there in a week.

I've never skipped, I'd be too scared. My teachers hate me enough already.

Personally, no. But my school is known for students who skip school just to study at home, skip lunch just to study in the library, and skip class just to study in the bathroom.

Our school has this crazy strict attendance policy where attendance is taken each period, so it's pretty much impossible to skip just one class (unless you go home before the last period or something). And even if skipping was easy, I'd be too scared and lazy to do it. (Lazy because I hate makeup work.)

Our school also doesn't recognize senior skip days, so most people don't skip on skip days either.

hm...i almost skipped math today. I had to find a world map for model un.

But i didn't. My history teacher made me return to class since i never told my math teacher i was gonna be gone. It made no difference anyway. Actually, it did make a difference. I realized how good i've gotten at sleeping with my eyes open.

Skipped spanish yesterday and took a nap in my car. Skipped physics today to get some ice cream. School doesn't really care; you're supposed to lose credit at 5 unexcused abscences, but that usually only happens if your teacher is a prick.

Sometimes my parents call sick for me, but it's usually because I didn't finish a 20-page lab report or I have to study for AP exams or whatever. I rarely call sick when I'm actually sick (tomorrow's an exception since my throat hurts and we're not doing anything important).

There's no limit on how many days you can be absent (except that if you're absent for more than five or so days you have to pass the final exam in order to pass the course, which hasn't ever been a problem for me).

my school does the same thing, makes no difference

since its 2nd semester senior year, i skipped more than usual. i only skip my elective classes because we usually do nothing. i think i skip atleast 1 class everyday and come 30 minutes late to my 1st period. its too hard to wake up in the morning now, im just lazy.

not to worried about attendance since i saved most of mine up for now plus some of my teachers take role once a week and are real chill.

Our attendance policy is if you have more than 5 absences for a class in a semester you have to pass the exam to pass the class. So I might as well not even come to school anymore since I already have more than 5 absences in each class.

If you get caught skipping more than 2 classes at my school you lose credit for the class. I probably won't skip anything until s3nior year.

My school used to have an weird attendance policy:
you could miss (per semester) and not have to take the class' exam,
4 days if you have an A
3 days if you have a B
2 days if you have a C
1 day if you have a D

They changed it all now so it's very easy and consequence-free to skip.
I skipped for the first time today. It was liberating.

Our school is very strict about attendance, so it kind of sucks, but luckily, most of the senior teachers are pretty chill, so most people show up to class for role and then take off for an hour or so (coffee, lunch, whatever), and then come back for the last bit of class. It's not the best, but a lot of people do it and it can be fun.

I have to plan which classes i skip because some teachers are lenient while others just suck... i skip physics and ap euro at least once a week each because theyre my last class of the day so i just go home, but for math if we don't have an excused admit we automatically fail that days assignment/quiz/test and that could kill the grade.

not really anymore but i found out today it was easy to make a fake early dismissal note in order to go the Phillies' game.

They lost though, but I am still content I can get at least a 4 in Calc without having gone.
