What is your opinion about that?

I mean, from my point of view, it's pretty pointless. You sit there for up to 4 hours doing pretty much nothing, listening to the same old cliche stuff over and over again.

Wow im glad someone feels the same way i do!
I didnt want to walk either but my parents want me to so they can take pictures for memories. Plus I already ordered the graduation gear =/

Oh and you missed the fact that we’d be sitting up there for 4 hours… in the heat :[ darn california summers

Your mother won’t be happy with you…

My parents could care less. Plus I forgot to order my gown :(

MT-More power to you.

I didn’t go to mine. Though that was largely because if I had gone, it would have just been me, no family. Kind of weird to go there, wait for a few hours, and go back home, especially when no one else wants you to.

Go. Listen to the speech, and see everyone finally graduate. See your friends. You’ll regret it. Since im graduating early and after summer school, i wont get to walk the stage this june with the seniors i know, but im still going to go to hear the speech, and see my friends.

Hell, i’ll skip class any day to go chill but skipping your high school graduation ceremony is ridiculous. Even though nobody thinks this way, it took 4 years of your life to get to this ceremony. If you don’t have the patience to sit for a few hours and see some of your classmates for maybe the last time in your life, then by all means skip, but it’s highly advisable that you don’t.

Seriously, what’s with all these “Should I skip [insert important high school event here]?” threads?

Go to graduation. It’s probably interesting to hear what some of your classmates have to say anyways.

i want to skip… I already know what they’re going to say.

“we waited so long for this moment.
you should all be proud of youselves.
When we look back we will cherish these moments forevr !!!
yah!!! alright
I know that our lessons learned here will help us in our lives
when we go to college i cna proudly say I graduated from ____”

**** u. and plus the gown is like 50 bucks x2 = $100 (my brother and I are twins) for this ****ty ass school ? helllllllll no.

Don’t do it.

My friend went and watched the graduating ceremony for our graduating class while I graduated. For the previous 8 months she had said “I don’t want to go. I don’t want to buy the gown. I don’t care about anyone in the class. It’s a waste of time.” etc.

She was BAWLING on the way back from the ceremony because she didn’t walk.

Just go to it. You’ll regret it if you don’t.

^what does that mean to a non-biology student?

And seriously, don’t skip it. I had my graduation last year (because in India HS graduation is sometimes after 10th grade) and it was a great experience. Seeing all those people for the last time all together, remembering our school days, getting awards, saying goodbye. It was a very emotional experience.

sigh
GO TO YOUR FREAKEN GRADUATION CEREMONY.
while you might find it useless now, it makes priceless memory when ur 50 yrs old, and you see your kids graduate. GO for your parents’ sake too. nothing will ever make them more proud than to see you walk.

^^ Thanks boss, I miss taking 11 subjects. I don’t even know if I am going to get a graduation ceremony, don;t know if this school has it. :S

Yeah, I guess you can say I don’t understand what it would mean to me…later on.

Well, my graduation ceremony, while held at the Patriot center at GMU… doesn’t feel worth it to me. Seeing the jerks who hated me for what will be 4 years isn’t worth it.

I don’t know about you guys, but my class size is so small (85 students; private school) that I’m basically forced to go to my graduation ceremony whether I like it or not. (I’m pretty sure I’ll like it, BTW ;))

It’s not a rational experience, it’s an emotional one, an ending. Go!

People who don’t want to go to their GRADUATION CEREMONY are the same people who make college confidential weird.

unless, you have something really awesome to do–like driving cross-country or backpacking around Europe-- go to your damn ceremony.
you probably won’t regret it.
weird, CCers…
grrrrr
