skipping my brother's college graduation...

first off, how important are college graduations? I just graduated from high school, and I honestly could have cared less if anyone else other than my parents attended. I mean, I'm thankful that several cousins, uncles and aunts came out, but I honestly wouldn't have been offended if they hadn't... but maybe that's just me.

so basically my brother's graduation takes place on june 13th, saturday. we'll be driving to his school so we'll be leaving on the 12th, a friday. this results in me missing both of my best friend's graduation parties on the 12th and 13th. I know, I'm really selfish but both of those parties are going to be ridiculously fun! the graduation on the other hand, will be really boring and I'll be spending most of the time just driving to his school....

so my question is, would it be alright to skip his graduation? In fact, the only reason I'm even considering skipping his graduation is because my mom came up to me and said that I could because she knows that his graduation (of a class of like 4000...) will not be nearly as personal as a high school graduation. I know that if I ask my brother about how he feels he probably won't care, he'll actually probably tell me to go party haha... but I also feel like I should be there. helppppppp.

Yeah, go man. I agree with you about not caring about high school graduation, it’s gunna suck when I have mine!

High school graduations are generally seen as more important than college graduations, I believe.

I think that’s only because, for most people, high school is the last graduation, and their only real one, since even if you had a kindergarten or middle school graduation (and a lot of people don’t) those weren’t real graduations. I’d say that for those who reach it, college is a bigger graduation, especially because college graduates are few and far between in a lot of families.

thanks for the input guys

any other thoughts?

Just send your bro a card and go party

Actually ask your brother before you make a decision.
