slacker?

ok, i just visited this thread where ppl were stating their aspirations...and i realized i had none.

wondering if im alone?
anyone else just, you know, taking life as it comes?

i have no definate goal in life
i havn't the slighest clue as to what i'll become (career-wise)

i don't know what hard work is
i have never studied except ABSOLUTELY required

most (if not all) classes in high school bored me to death

so, am i just randomly drifting? or arethere (im sure there are) other people here who dont have a clue? lost in the void like me?

dont worry.. these pepl on cc are the smartest, brightest kids in the u.s

there are millions like you! i know that when i tell my friends my future, they are like, ehh you got everything sorted!!
My friends are like you too. and practically everyone else in the school.

if you want to improve, just stay focused. give yourself time to think of what you want to do, what you want to achieve, your goals: short or long..

ps school bores me to death too. the only reason i go is to see friends.. other than that, i'd get home schooling

I for one have no idea what I'm doing. Am I slacker? Maybe a little. But I am trying to find my way.

Of course, I do feel a lot of uncertainty, and I do find people's apparent certainty intimidating. It's scary that seemingly everyone knows precisely what they want to do in life, and I (still) don't. It's scary that we live in an increasingly competitive, workaholic world and yet, here I am, playing it all by ear. But perhaps there isn't anything wrong with that. Perhaps, it IS alright to simply to take life as it comes?

I don't know the answer, but I definitely know where you're coming from. So no, you're not alone. And I honestly believe that just because you don't really know exactly what you are doing or in what direction you want to pursue, doesn't necessarily mean you cannot/will not be happy or successful. After all, happiness and success are determined according to how YOU, yourself define them.

If I am allowed to be so bold, I'll mention that the guy mentioned above is an intl applicant who got a full ride at lots of cool colleges including Duke. And has superduper grades... i'llbeback: maybe you're just a lot more smarter than others so you dont need to work that hard.

^ haha thanks mercurysquad... im flattered, even though i wouldn't describe my grades as "superduper" (:

just curious- does everyone who has an "aspiration" 100% sure about it? or do these "aspirations" change frequently?

It IS alright to simply take life as it comes.

are you freshman? cuz you sound just like me when i was freshman

nope not a freshman, just done with high school... going to colllege in august...

^
thanks for answering that for me confused look

I thought that was ANOTHER of your alternate IDs.. :-/

nope... this is the one im currently using ever since THE MODERATORS BANNED MY ORIGINAL ID @~FLAMETHROWER~@ AND ARE RUDE ENOUGH TO NOT REPLY TO MY 3 PM'S AND EMAILS ABOUT THE FATE OF MY OLD ID I AM FORCED TO USE THIS ID. <--------------- GO AHEAD, BAN ME AGAIN, MODS

ohhhhhhhhhh flamethrower i remember you. someone suggested "flamethrower, watercannon - any connection?" And I thought that was pretty funny..................yeah..why were u banned?

i was banned because of the whole episode with starman- he was insulting people of indian origin and i defended my culture and my people. apparently it didn't go down too well with the mods sobs

yeah they have the habit of banning not those who offend, but those who dont report the posts as offensive :p

I got a TOS Violation warning for quoting a swearword, and asking the guy to stop swearing... my post was deleted, while the original post stayed.. :D
