I'm pretty sure most of us are tired after coming home from school and I always sleep a little on the car but then try to keep my self awake until all of my homework is completed. Would it be more prudent to sleep and regenerate your energy first before you study? Sometimes, when I read, the words just go over my head since I'm tired. However, if I sleep first, then usually my sleep routine changes and then I get even more tired in school and then it starts turning bad.. If I don't sleep, sometimes I will have to re-read things over and over again which obviously takes longer. Which one do you do and why?

sleep for a little bit, then study. then I have alot of energy at night but oh well.

Yea, I just nap a bit for an hour. I then have the energy to study for a few hours. It's a pretty good payoff if you discount the unhealthiness of it all.

Just make sure you can get up in the morning. I would go with the homework in the morning thing, but don't do it if you can't get up early.

yeah, only sleep for a little while. like 45 minutes. any longer and you will be lethargic instead of energized.

I never ever ever sleep before I study because I know I'll never wake up. I also like going to sleep knowing that everything that needs to get done is done and that I won't be rushing in the morning when I wake up. I guess it helps me relax and go to sleep faster.

I have weird energy levels.. Like sometimes when I sleep 5 hours I get really tired when I come back to school. Then I start drifting off on homework but then after 1-2 hours bang! The energy is back (mabye because of food) and I'm able to operate until 1 AM... it is weird. But I still have a "tired" feeling in my eyes lol.

I did sleep-study today, and needless to say I overslept and somehow my alarm clock didn't go off (or when I'm extremely tired I usually wake up, turn off the alarm, go back to sleep, and then wake up an hour later having no memory whatsoever of waking up to turn off the alarm) and missed a deadline. Oh well.

Taking breaks during studying to take a quick nap is ideal, but that is often difficult for most people (myself included) so I would recommend getting up very early to complete large amounts of studying. It is much more productive to study when you are fully rested, although this may cause some stress if you run out of time.

I never sleep during the day. I just go, go, go from 6:30 -10:30 every day. If I sleep, I feel awful the rest of the day so I just stay awake.

I drive myself, so sleep isn't really a question...

I study before I sleep...
or I just dont study. It seems to work fairly well for me.

I usually study before i sleep unless I'm really tired and and can't focus on anything.

sleep then study in the morn

do you go home around 3:00?
if you do, then the reason you're so tired is because of the midaftenoon-dip. it's a biological clock thing. it kinda uncovers your sleepiness that you already have, tempting you to take a nap. the only way to really prevent it is get enough sleep the night before and eat something nutritious about half an hour before that time comes around.

whatever you do, keep your schedule regular. even if you sleep some during the day and some during the night or whatever, make sure those times are constant every day. you will have so much more energy, and you shouldn't have insomnia after you get used to it.

i recommend just getting at least 8 hours (maybe more) of sleep per night, because then you won't be tired during the day, solving your problem.

but whatever you do, keep it constant!

i personally am at my best after 9.5 hours. but it's kinda hard to make it to bed at 9 pm :(

I do homework until like 8, then sleep until 3, wake up for 2-3 hours, then sleep until 6:45...it's worked thus far =

I go to sleep as soon as I finish my school homework (10ish) and then I sleep until 4, and that's when I work on self-studying APs or doing stuff for my other ECs. Then I start getting ready for school at seven, get to school by 8:10. My school starts at 8:30.

I sleep like 14 hours/night on weekends so it evens out.

Personally, I get really disoriented if I take a nap or sleep at any other time besides for the night, so I go with studying and then sleeping! Maybe have some tea or something to keep you energized?

I say study, sleep, study.

If I sleep 10 minutes - 20 minutes, I wake up feeling energized up to a degree

If I sleep 30 min+, I wake up feeling in the worst possible mood of my life, and want to just begin punching ppl who try to make me do anything except go back to sleep
