Hello! I am writing a paper for a class on sleep deprivation and sleep schedules of college students, and I wanted some informal feedback on some students' habits of sleep compared to how they slept in high school.

What's your sleep schedule like? Is it completely different from high school? Is it different from your roommates, and how do you cope with your roommates' sleep compared to yours? If you could just generally answer the questions somehow or one of them that'd be great. It'd be interesting to just know how people slept compared to high school anyways.

oh yeah, everyone in college has a weird sleeping schedule. it depends on when your classes are, but this semester it's like, go to bed around 12:30-1am and get up at 7 (or more likely, 7:20ish, after the snooze) on Tues and Thurs for my 8am. On MWF I don't have class til 11, so I get up around 10 after going to bed about 2-2:30. And... on the weekends, anything goes. I was up until almost 6am last night and got up at 10:30 this morning...
some nights I get a good 8-9 hours, and some nights it's more like 4 or 5. I also tend to take a hour or so long nap during the day if I have time. Naps are awesome!

In high school, my mom forced me into a regular sleeping schedule, basically. I had to be in bed by 11, and get up by 6:45. On the weekends I was freer, but I wasn't a partier so I would usually spend the night at my friends' houses and stay up watching movies til about 3am then go to bed and get up at like 10-11am and go home.

My schedule's completely different from high school. In HS I'd usually go to sleep by 11:30-12 and be up by 7 AM. Now I usually go to sleep at around 1 and am up at around 8:30. I usually do take naps in the afternoon though.

my high school was weird. i usually went to sleep after coming home. and i usually went to sleep whenever i felt like it 11 pm - 3 am. but i had to wake up at 7 am and that was a pain in the ass!!

i feel like my college schedule is a bit more structured. i go to sleep around 12-2am and wake up 8-11 am depending on when i have class. i hate taking naps during the day unless i'm really tired. i know several people that do though.

i guess im one of the people not-normal people who gets enough sleep in college :]

My high school sleeping schedule was terrible because I was such a lazy piece of **** and slept in class all the time... I actually go to bed earlier in college (usually around 2) than in high school

In high school I fairly regularly went to sleep at 11 and woke up at 7 on the weekdays. In college I generally get to bed later since it's not uncommon to go out on week nights. However, I never wake up before 8 (9AM classes five days a week), and naps are more common for me. I'll probably nap total of a couple hours each week while in high school I didn't nap at all. Total, though, I'd say it works out that I get about the same amount of sleep I did in high school.

In high school, I usually went to bed around midnight and got up at 6:30. I usually slept in class, especially 6th and 7th hour.

In college, first semester I slept a lot. I slept around 8 hours a night and in class sometimes if I was still tired. This semester I'm sleeping around 6 hours again and usually stay up in class and all day without naps, except some days it seems to catch up to me all at once. On those days I'm usually asleep more than I'm awake.

In high school I went to sleep at 12am and woke up at 7 am to go to school. I was very used to this sleeping schedule and on saturdays and sundays I still kept the same schedule, so on weekends I would still wake up at 7am, which was awesome in a way because the days seemed very long and it seemed like I could do a lot.

In college however, my structured sleeping schedule could not be anymore. Theres no way to have a constant sleeping schedule with the dynamic structure of college. If you have stuff to turn in, test to study for, etc, you gotta pull an all-nighter, which is something i NEVER did in high school. So now I dont have a sleeping schedule, I sleep when I can, if I can... Seems mostly everyone is like that too. You gotta do what you gotta do.
