sleeping tips

<p>hey guys, how do you manage to doze off to cloud nine when night comes? i'm having trouble falling asleep and i really want to get rid of it since it's summer! I WANNA SLEEP TILL 9 AM!</p>

<p>Aren't you supposed to drink warm milk or something? That's all I can offer, or, count sheep. :&lt;/p>

<p>hm.. i just honestly count sheep when i can't sleep. i keep counting and i realize i always get to about 150 or so before i can't remember i doze off. i imagine sheep after sheep of cartoons jumping over a fence. good luck =].</p>

<p>auuughgh warm milk. I tried that once, it was really disgusting. But i guess some people are into that sort of thing ;)</p>

<p>My suggestions would be...
~don't drink caffine at least 2 hours before bed
~exercise every day (but do it in the morning, NOT at night... that keeps you awake)
~When you're trying to fall asleep, focus on your breathing. It clears your mind</p>

<p>i know there's more, but i can't think of them now. well, reading a book usually makes me fall asleep. try that.</p>

<p>Warm milk is the best! I would try that.</p>

<p>Well in Saving Private Ryan they guy says to the harder you try to stay up the faster you fall asleep. Never tried it and Im not sure it works all the time. But like Pongo said clear your mind, focusing on breathing or just stop thinking all together. Once your mind is empty you'll fall asleep alot quicker.</p>

<p>you could learn how to make steamers. Warm milk that doesn't taste like poo!</p>

<p>when i had trouble sleeping i used a sleeping cd thing. It sounds stupid but it put me to sleep in a heart beat.</p>

Alcohol. Imbibed quickly and in high strength.</p>

<p>Counting sheep is just distracting and makes you stay up. Trust me--I think I'm an insomniac. The one and only thing that works is to take two Nyquil capsules 1 hour before bed and it'll knock you right out. I hate depending on medicine, but it gets the job done and I wake up ready to go.</p>

<p>do the alphabet backwards or something or try to keep the Fibonacci sequence going in your head.....it makes me really tired really fast.</p>

<p>Listen. I think I am an insomniac. I have tried sheep but it keeps me up. Nothing works EXCEPT Nyquil. Take 2 an hour before bed and it'll knock you clean out. You wake up fine 7-8 hours later. I hate depending on medicine but otherwise I lay down at 11:00 and don't get to bed until 3:00 and have to wake up at 6:00 so it's the only way.</p>

<p>My mother takes blood pressure pills, which tire her out quickly. But you only want to take those assuming you have problems with blood pressure.</p>

<p>Close all doors so that your room is pitch black. I don't know, but the darkness makes me feel sleepy because I can't see anything.</p>

<p>I like doing that because it allows me time to think to myself without the interference of light.</p>

<p>Oh boy, that doesn't work at all..thinking to myself is what keeps me up all night! you can't just turn thinking off either</p>

<p>I have the golden ticket: open your chemistry (or biology, physics, etc.) book and read. You'll be knocked out in 10 minutes.</p>
