So midyear reports are coming out soon and I have 1 B+ and possibly another B+ or B. Is that going to look bad in the eyes of admission officers for top schools like Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Cornell, JHU, etc. The definite B+ is in AP English and the B/B+ is in Honor Spanish IV. Thanks.

It wont look great, but it wont kill you. If there is nothing you can do, then dont worry about it. It's out of your hands.
You're a second semester senior now (like me!). Go out and enjoy yourself.

thanks, anyone else with some opinion

it wont matter really. they just wanna see if you totally messed up your senior year.

if it REALLY mattered that much, colleges could have just pushed the admissions process past first semester so they could completely factor in your senior year grades, right?

well thats not how it is, so obviously the mid year report doesnt have too much weight.

thanks that makes sense, anyone else with some opinions?

you'll be fine. that's all i have to say.

Thanks everyone for being so positive, but does anyone disagree?

nah should b alright. b is fine.

i got a C in honors math...that's when the issues start. in the 7 other honors i take i hav Bs.

You'll be competing with people who maintained As their senior year. Does this mean all rejections for you? Who knows? Admissions to top universities includes more factors than grades.

thanks everyone

lol look up the word 'dilemma' again.

emphasis on slight
