And they really are cheating! The only person to get a perfect 10 in gymnastics, some romanian in montreal said the government chemically delayed her puberty…so being younger and before puberty really does help.

i guess using the young girls is a commie thing

I hope they trip getting up on the podium. Or just fall off. Underage jumpy little craps. Whatever, Russia will invade China some day.

I liked the joke: if you wondered if Phelps can do it with his eyes closed…well, he apparently can

And Romania used to beat their girls I think. There was something fishy about them. And puberty does make a huge deal: puberty brings boobs and hips and big butts.

Whatever, USA still has the most medals, and that’s all that counts. Just because they have more gold we’re still ahead. We have depth. They have cheaters.

because young girls retain less fat. no boobs, no female shape. want an example? look at china. bleh. i’m angry.

i can’t wait for some more swimming. HAHA i love this old guy with the white beard. he’s like no these kids are definitely underage.

russia definitely will take over. didn’t you hear bush? apparently putin and him and good friends. and shoe, phelps can do anything with his eyes closed. i think i might move to baltimore and stalk him just to see if I can have one of this children. one swimming machine is all I want.

So good at beach volleyball, it was really funny watching the women beat the japanese and cubans, the little asians and cubans were no match for the 6’2" Americans.

Age is relative. It is possible to be 18 but look nine through some weird combination of genes. But hormone treatment can also simulate that - just use the right inhibitors etc. BUT I don’t see how it is any more a human rights violation than training young violinists and straining their necks. ;-)

Age is relative, but these girls are obviously under 16.

Quite nice of you to be working on a gift at 1 am, I’m utterly un-creative, every year it is something like hand lotion, unless I come across a stroke of genius.

And, I’ve had tremendous luck this past Christmas and now her birthday. I dunno what I’m doing for this upcoming Christmas. But, I’m getting her a puzzle of my dog and trying to get the picture right so I can order it tomorrow. She’s a puzzle queen, so it should be fun. Not happening though, it’s bedtime.

Canuck: okay I don’t have visuals but they could have taken girls with Turner’s or something. Biology is full of deception. And Asians are known for being petite and flatchested anyway. The PRC has 1.3 billion people. Easy to find people with strange genetics, helped with a growth-delaying environment. Some of my Singaporean friends haven’t really changed in looks since primary school. Just wait for the tests - I’m not so sure the PRC would have sent a cheating team if they knew it was obvious.

The worse injustice is the Republic of China being forced to compete under the name Chinese Taipei. What kind of nonsense is that. The Republic has been existing longer than the PRC has.

haha HHD we love him. that’s why we lovingly refer to him as “old guy with white hair” and “crazy old guy.” there’s love in those words. but anyway, you should get in on the action tonight to make sure us youngsters know who we’re talking about.

Yes he does, and while I find him hilarious, I took him seriously when he said that after training young female gymnasts all of his life, he doesn’t believe some of the Chinese team members are 16.

He also said nothing will come of it, as their government issued passport is the only proof needed.

I found myself disappointed that in the news yesterday when it was revealed that China had the girl who sang the patriotic song was lip syncing because the girl with the better voice was not considered pretty enough. After that I wasn’t surprised when I found out that the fireworks televised during the opening ceremony was enhanced and digitally inserted into the telecast.

Having said that, I really appreciate how the Chinese spectators cheer for all of the competitors.
