in a class, and before the final your professor said you were undoubtedly getting an A in her class...then you take the final and it is hell on paper. you know you probably failed badly.

is there still a chance of getting an A in that class?

it depends on how much the final counts, how much the prof likes you, and how badly you actually did.

hard to say…

I know she likes me a lot. she even wrote me a recommendation letter saying, “she is doing excellent in this class”

I want to talk to her about it, though i’m quite embarrassed…if i really did screw up that badly on my final I don’t want to see her face-to-face anymore because she really had so much faith in me up until the final.

I wouldn’t be surprised if you still got an A, but you may get some sort of A- or B+. Professors do grade subjectively at times, but I’ve usually heard of it being that if you were flunking a class and you passed the final, they would give you like a C.

one thing about teachers/professors- you may seem like you’d be dissapointing them, but no matter how much it seems like youre making their day, youre actually not. dont worry about the face to face thing- theyve been through plenty of people who are awesome and plenty of people who are not. you are just another student to them overall.
