Slingbox

Does anyone out there use slingbox? How is it? Does UCLA have any broadband restrictions or anything that would affect the ability to use it?

on campus you should be fine. I’m pretty sure it’s unlimited, if you’re looking to stream sports from home, it’ll probably just be limited by your home bandwidth since the on-campus network is ridiculously fast.

I’ve been looking into using one to watch my Sharks, but the network connection at home isn’t too great.

It should work. We don’t have bandwidth restrictions.
UCLA does have cable in every room though with most channels.

I got one as a gift and it works pretty well. Like Deuces said, your home upstream bandwidth is the bottleneck, not UCLA’s campus network.

However, I also got a TV tuner for cheap, and because of the HD channels, I don’t use my slingbox much anymore.
