Housing question for a freshman. help! pros and cons would be nice.

[Freshman housing guide 2010 » North by Northwestern](http://www.northbynorthwestern.com/2010/05/81000/freshman-housing-guide-2010/)

Dude I think the OP wants more insight than the housing guide.

I would like more insight as well. Thanksss

The housing guide is pretty good. You get pretty good decriptions, video interviews and pictures.

You can always take a moment a do a search in the northwestern forum. There have been numerous threads about all the housing options at Northwestern.

it says u have to pay more for slivka and ayers…how does this work? they already gave me my financial package w/ the exact cost per quarter. does the cost change if i pick slivka?

I stayed in Slivka over the summer for NSLC…the summer conference for hs students when I was a junior and now I’m going to Berkeley but here are some things…

Pros:
-it’s close to the lake/beach or whatever (not from chicago hah)
-close to the gym…3 minute walk
-the dorm is pretty spacious…at least to me. i was in a double, and my roomie was really clean and so was I…well kind of. and our bunks were on top of each other. The view kinda sucked cuz we were looking at other apartments.

Cons
-There were blinds…idk if all the dorms have it but light shone/shined? through and they were kinda broken.

idk i guess i dont have much to say actually hah

One benefit of living in Ayers is that whenever anyone asks where you live, you can say, “In the ayer, a-ayer, ayer, a-ayer!”

Oh, and I won’t be able to tell you anything more than what’s on the housing guide.

You charges will change after you pick your housing. Your FA Package is based on a basic double. You can save money by going into a triple or you can pay extra for other units. Your FA package will not change. Works the same with your meal plan. You can pick the unlimited meal plan - but you’ll have to pay the difference - your FA is not going to change.

^thank you kleibo!
