for everyone who helped me about my other problems… i finally talked to my college counselor and she gave me an academic renewal form for my F. thanks for the help regardless

So the title says it all…

in terms of Computer Engineering and the possibility to land a decent job after graduation?

also, can anyone compare the campus environment as well and demographics?

Unless you’re a total cityslicker, I would choose Cal Poly for any Engineering position any day. Costs are lower, and most engineering kids graduate with an employer or prospectives. My thoughts are that UCSD is a better pick over UCI, but Cal Poly beats both because it is a school geared toward engineers and is less costly.

I chose Cal Poly last minute over UCSD, and I’m so glad I did. Cal Poly is a great education (especially if you’re an eng major) for a fraction of the tuition. Very friendly environment, and way less competitive than UCSD.

Students at Cal Poly seem happy and positive. When we visited UCSD, the students were all so serious and stressed out. It is a great school for science and pre-med, but CP is so good for engineering. UCI is a nice campus and it has a good computer gaming major I have heard. I agree with the people above that CP is the best for the price and the atmosphere. It is also somewhat smaller and that appealed to my son. he loves the weather! We feel good about his choice and much more optimistic about him landing a job in engineering when he graduates.

i am also leaning towards Cal Poly now… I love a morning hike and outdoor sports, while at times I do like to hangout in the city. I think i’ll enjoy Cal Poly more because of its fresher air.

great choice i also love being outside and this campus and its students is very conducive to that! everybody else loves to hike and be outside too.
