SLR Not Approved Yet?

I submitted my Statement of Legal Residence nearly 2 months ago, and it still shows "Awaiting Evaluation" in Bearfacts.
Also, when I go into my Cars Statement, it says I have a balance of $11,300, which sounds like out of state tuition (and I'm a California resident).
Anyone else have this problem?

11.300 is not out-of-state tuition. out of state is much more.

Out-of-state tuition+fee= $17,820 (<a href="http://students.berkeley.edu/fao/ugbudget05-06.html%5B/url%5D">http://students.berkeley.edu/fao/ugbudget05-06.html</a>)
Mine is even weirder: $23,116.

They charge you per semester, right? So 11,300 for a semester for out of state = over $22,000 a year, which sounds about right to me.

Have your SLR's been approved yet?

It's not 11,300.

I'm an immigrant, they need a copy of my Green-card.
They say the bill will include non-resident tuition while my SLR being reviewed.
I can just pay, then get refund. Or pay the first installment, then wait for the non-resident amount to be excluded.

Good to know.. I have this problem too.. I thought I was the only one.

Yeah, I have the same problem too. No way in hell I'm gonna pay non-resident tuition! I'm getting nervous. They haven't approved my SLR yet and they've charged non-resident fees? Odd.

Sounds like this isn't an isolated problem... I e-mailed the office about the issue and recieved an auto response saying that they are receiving very high volumes of e-mails and it will be a few days before they respond. It could likely be a result of this issue.

oooohh i have the same problem!! and i have to pay $12,000...

Where do you view your bill?

Regarding SLR

Check in Bearfacts under "Personal Profile" rather than Statement of Legal Residence. It will say under there whether you're a California Resident or not. Under "Term Status," you will find "Calif. Residency Status." It will say there whether or not you are a resident.

Regarding CARS

Under my CARS account, I have $14,481.95 as my account balance. Unsure if that makes sense or not. I am a California Resident (and it says so on my Personal Profile. However, I have $4,721.45 as the minimum amount due. This makes sense when you add the two together, getting $19,203.40. That about equals everything (because the $23K includes "personal," "transportation," and "books").

For those with the account balance of $11K, if you have accepted your loans, those loans are credited to your CARS.

Viewing Your Bill

To access viewing your bill, go to <a href="http://bearfacts.berkeley.edu%5B/url%5D">http://bearfacts.berkeley.edu</a>
Under the "Students" category, there should be a sign that says "View CARs/e-bill" with "New!" next to it. There you can set up your e-bill and e-payment.

You can view your CARS account (but not your bill) by proceeding to <a href="http://bearfacts.berkeley.edu%5B/url%5D">http://bearfacts.berkeley.edu</a>, clicking "Students." Once your page has come up, scroll down to "CARS" (or something that has CARS in it) and click the "Quick Statement" under it.

yeap, effelguy has got it down

My profile states "SLR submitted, awaiting evaluation." I'm wondering if I answered the second question on the SLR incorrectly. I hope this clears up soon before Aug 15 coz I can't pay $6500 all at once (that's my minimum due!) Yikes!

My BearFacts got updated today... now it says California Resident :) My CARS balance was reduced to $2,450.
Looks like they are just horrendously slow in getting those SLRs approved.

Yay, now I'm a California Resident on BearFacts and my CARS balance is 0.00. Phew, I was getting nervous about having to pay $6500 all at once. So, anybody knows what happens to extra scholarship money? Looks like mine disappeared...

Ugh I'm still not approved yet.. but they haven't asked for any further information? I will call them tomorrow about it. I emailed them about a week ago and still no response!

Anyone else still waiting?

me...
They make me pay like 13,000 ...
Dude, my parents havent earned that much money since we came here. How am I supposed to pay that much at once?
I have to call Office of Registrar and Financial aid office tommorow !!!

Check your e-bills! They came in today.
