Before you Fill out the SLS Application there is a pop up that says "Upon completion of the application you should see a confirmation message on the following page if you do not see this confirmation then we did not recieve your application"
I recieved this confirmation message, however I never recieved an email from them and I filled mine out the day they began accepting them. Should I fill out another form? Also does anyone have any answers to my previous post?

People have heard about SLS (some before Christmas). Although, with a 12/22 submission it's reasonable to assume you got caught up in the Christmas rush.

what do you mean "heard about SLS" kate, like they found out about it or they found out they were accepted or not. I recieved a letter/info pamphlet in the mail from admissions around December 10th explaining it to me and telling me when they started accepting the applications, so I waited for the day they began taking them and got it done asap. So do you recommend filling out another one? I think I'll just end up calling admissions tomorrow and see if they recieved mine.

Sorry. I meant that the applicant had applied to and been accepted to SLS before Christmas. I saw the acceptance letter. The applicant received the confirmation notice immediately after submitting the online app, but couldn't remember if an email had been sent as a followup or not.

If you haven't heard by early next week, it would be perfectly appropriate to contact Admissions to confirm receipt of your application. I also wouldn't hesitate to add additional information to your file, if relevant, regarding your EC's. They don't all fit neatly into those checkboxes.

When do you think the 12/22 submission might come back? I'm assuming mid- to early-February now, thanks to posts to this board.

That should be early- to mid-February, but that doesn't really change anything.

Finally received a letter in the mail today confirming my SLS Application, in it they said I should hear by May 15th if I am accepted to SLS or not, but like chackster I'm assuming I'll hear sometime around february, Most people I've talk to who have been to sls say they heard some time around the first week in feb. So we'll see, good luck to all who applied.

Tn48th, when did you apply? Thanks ...

Hey Chackster, I can't exactly remember when, but to the best of my knowledge it was probably between Dec. 18th - December 21st. So you should probably recieve a letter from them soon confirming it, but we probably won't know for atleast a month if we made it in or not, I hope we did. Would be awesome to actually know some people there prior to going. Do you have an AIM screen name or email adress we could keep in touch through and keep each other updated on our status? you can PM me with one if you want

I just recieved my acceptance letter. How many people usually attend each year? 800 seems like a huge number.

Hey Incamera, mind posting some of your stats that you filled out on your SLS application so we can compare and see if the rest of us have any chance of making it? I hope to find out soon, although their letter said I wouldn't hear till around late feb or even may lol. we'll see

400 each session

I received my acceptance letter today, so I'm pretty happy right now! Good luck to everyone else going for SLS admission!

I recieved a letter today saying I was put on the SLS waiting list, not sure why, I had pretty decent PSAT I thought, 60 math 60 english 64 reading, and really good extra curriculars, ACT scores were 32 in reading, 27 in math, 27 in english, but 20 in science cause time killed me. Do yal think science is what was the deciding factor in them putting me on a 'waiting list'. I can't take the ACT again until feb 11th. Do yal think updating my sls application with a resume of my HS activities would help me out any?

So What are my chances now of making it into SLS now?

tn48th:

My stats were PSAT: Math: 76 Verbal: 58: Reading: 61: My rank was 5/150. I did not have too many EC"s but I was Captain of my Hockey Team. I think you have a decent chance of getting in. Also, I believe they accept based on regions so perhaps someone more qualified from your region allready got in. Good Luck

Hey barce, thanks for the reassurance, well our PSAT's were the same well except for math of course but I got you in the other 2 areas, my rank is 5/450 and I have pretty good EC's. Just doesn't make sence on how the accept people for SLS especially when I talk to people and have them beat in several categories, not saying they aren't qualified, just saying it seems like I would be just as qualified if not more and they get accepted right off and i get waitlisted. I'm in middle tennessee, doesn't seem like its that competitive from conferences and stuff I've been too. is there a way to find out how competitive your region is?

tn,

relax, if you are meant to go, you will.

admissions is pretty good at what they do.

tn48th, sure.

PSAT: 226
V:68 M:80 W:78

SAT: 2260
V: 750 M: 760 W: 750

ACT: 35
W: 33 M: 34 R:36 S:36

estimated GPA is 3.8 since my school doesn't calculate GPAs. no ranking system in school. varsity tennis only one year, jv tennis only one year. no girl scouts or leader awards... um... I think that's it?

yeah i had applied at the end of december when I got my PSAT scores back. A few seconds later a notice came up saying I would hear from them in the first week of March. Hope that helps!
