SLU Class of 2018

Who got accepted already?? I got the call this past Thursday!

when did you apply?

All my stuff was subMitted on October 7.

Congratulations! They call me yesterday. Did they offer you any scholarship?

Yep! I got the University scholarship and Jesuit high school award (total of $15,000). My stats are 3.21 UW GPA and a 30 ACT.

I got the Ignatian scholarship (6K), but I am planning to apply for Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship.

I just got the call today, I am so excited! I was accepted to the business school with the Vice President’s scholarship of $16,500. Stats: 30 ACT, 4.3 gpa, tons of community service activities, student council all four years! I submitted everything on October 28, it was a very quick acceptance. Message me if you want, I’m molly!

Hey! My name is Callie and I think I’m gonna run at SLU. Are you?

Is anyone else applying for the presidential scholarship?

I’m gonna apply for the prez scholarship, yeah!

What do you guys think distinguishes people who get the Vice President’s scholarship from the Dean’s scholarship?

I’m going here next year and cannot wait. I’m so excited; i just want to be in college already. In the acceptance packet they sent, they said to add “SLU CLASS OF 2018” on facebook, but i can’t find that group.

I was also wondering what the difference in Deans and VP is. My boyfriend got the VP  SO proud of him. I got Deans, but wondering why the difference. ACT score perhaps?

I have a 29 (from a couple of years ago, I haven’t been able to take it since then because of medical issues). I’m taking the ACT again in December, for the first time in a while. I tried to get accommodations, but so far, no luck. If I get a higher score in December, do you think they will consider adding more scholarship money?

Also, on the President’s Scholarship, is the 3.85 GPA steadfast? Or do they consider every application and the numbers are just a big part of the decision?

I’d be interested in know the answers to these questions also. Hope someone knows.

Do you guys think residency plays a roll in which scholarship you get? Like I said, I got Deans, but (not trying to be snobby) I was a little disappointed to not get VP b/c of my scores and my extra curriculars. Maybe it’s because I don’t live in Missouri?

Hello, do you have any information on Parks college of Engineering. Nobody seems to write about it and it’s very difficult to find any information online. I would really appreciate if you can give me some insights. Thanks

@mlayman14 Cool! Have you heard anything back? It seems like in past years SLU let people know if they advanced by mid January, and the interview weekend is supposed to be in January or February. Also, do they contact those who don’t make the cut as well?

@scissorkick I haven’t yet. I emailed my admissions counselor, and this is what she responded: “Students will notified mid-January, whether they are invited to an interview weekend or not. This year’s weekends are February 13-15th and February 20-22nd!” So hopefully we will be finding out soon! Post as soon as you know, i will too
