<p>absolutely the admissions group will look at what kind of high school you went to. they can research any school, see its average scores, see how challenging it is. and in your case, it's so small that it doesn't tell them much. and they'll probably assume that it's so small that it's not very competitive or challenging. so your standardized test scores will carry even more weight. and you better be in the top 3 spots in your class rank (which is the top 10%). your extracurriculars and college courses will be even more important. you always have a chance. but the rest of your application needs to clearly explain why the tiny private high school doesn't matter. if it doesn't explain this clearly, you have little or no chance.</p>
<p>the bottom line is that if you're a "big fish in that little pond", and one of the more rare and exceptional candidates from that school in years, that you'll have the same shot that anyone from a larger high school has.</p>
