Small Disaster Sending Application

So, I'm applying to Georgetown as a transfer student, and I mailed the app on Feb 27th from my campus post office. However, the post office is full of idiots who managed to mix up my application for Georgetown and my application for a summer internship. Hence, according to my tracking number, my GU app has been delivered to Pittsburgh.
When I called admissions, the counselor didn't seem to think it was a big deal. She said I should probably resend the application, but didn't think the lateness would be held against me. I'm not sure she understood what I was saying. Do you think I should include some sort of note of explanation? I'm very concerned I've screwed myself over.

include an explanation

i had a similar problem, i sent my application in early action and they called me fom the admissions office in early december saying they never got it... we assumed it was a problem with the post office or perhaps a mixup at gu but the admissions lady was very understanding and said to resend my application and that it wouldnt affect my decision.

Okay, just checking, does the following sound appropriate?

Dear Georgetown Admissions Officers,

I’m sorry for the tardiness of this application. My campus mailroom somehow confused addresses, and my original application was sent to Pittsburgh. Attached to this letter, please find my mailing receipt with confirmation number verifying that my first application was postmarked before March 1st.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
