i stayed in a dorm in Rocky for one nite. It was a quad. It had a nice common room but the two doubles had bunk beds ( i could never sleep on the top bunk) and two desks and two dressers with a very small shared closet. the desk chairs were side by side when pulled out. there was almost no walkng room in the room. it was almost claustrophobic. the communal bathroom was pretty far away. are there any better dorms in princeton? i was really disappointed with the dorms.

is there a window in the dorm room?

yeah, the do beds HAVE to be bunked in certain dorms? I don't like the whole idea of bunk beds :(

There were 2 windows in the common room but no windows in the actual bedrooms. the bedrooms were so tiny that i do not see how it would be possible to unbunk the beds. and people told me that princeton had nice dorms.

Really depends on which dorms you had the fortune/misfortune to see. I've generally been pretty satisified with the ones I've seen.

Rooms can vary drastically. It depends not so much on the dorm as on the specific room you get. It's pretty much a wait-and-see game until you get your housing info in July.

Doubles in Forbes new wing are over 320 sq feet with private bath. You can un-bunk the beds.
If you ask for sub free you may get lucky and get Forbes new wing. Of course there is no guarantee.

I'd prefer -- if it were possible -- to pull the desks and chairs out into the common room. That way, people working/studying super late at night or super early in the morning wouldn't disturb people who want to sleep.

^ That's how the setup was at the Forbes main room I stayed in. They had four unbunked beds in one room, four desks (and fridge and closet) in the other room, and a bathroom in between.

The addition double I visited was absolutely tiny, though.

But Forbes sucks if you're an engineer. What, a 20 minute walk to Engineering Quad?

Yup. A mile. And two of my hosts were engineers, both very excited about getting to live ON campus for junior year.

article about dorms in princeton

E-quad is more like 12-15 minutes from Forbes.:)
Still not great.

i stayed in mathey for april hosting and the dorms were really small too...the bunk beds and everything, except it was a double and the rooms had a window. And the quad is pretty far...I'm definitely bringing a bike or something.

the double i stayed in in mathey was HUGE, with a gorgeous view

hehe....the double you stayed in was one part of the biggest triple in mathey....but yeah, my room's pretty awesome...lol

yeah, haha THANKS for letting me stay with you!
