Small, Good Musical Theatres

What are the best schools for Musical Theater? Im looking for the ones that have a good Musical Theater program, small (around 2000 students), and that have a good dance program too.

Michigan-Ann Arbor has one of the better...and surprisingly, one of the smaller, Musical Theater and Dance programs.

It is true that Michigan has an excellent MT program. Though, I do not understand why it is surprising that the program is small. There are several other excellent MT programs housed in large universities that are as small or smaller than U.M. Off the top of my head, I would name Florida State, Penn State, Syracuse, and the University of Cincinnati (CCM). I assume that the OP is looking for MT programs that are housed in small schools of around 2000 students, not schools that have 2000 MT majors. There are no schools to my knowledge that have 2000 MT majors! MT programs range from around 30students to 250 total (freshmen - seniors).

I hope that the OP checks out the MT forum to which Violadad so kindly posted a link. There's lots of good information over there.

Good points dancersmom. I thought the OP wanted to attend a MT department at a small university to avoid large and impresonal classes. However, as you point out, most MT programs are small and afford students a good deal of personal attention.
