My son is looking at very small liberal arts colleges in the northeast, with LD programs. He has applied to and been accepted at (1) Curry College (2) Centenary College (NJ) (3) Iona College (4) St. Thomas Aquinas College; and (5) Mitchell College. His top three (with his teenaged boy criteria) are Centenary, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Curry.

Could anyone give me some first hand or second hand feedback about these colleges? Particularly Centenary College, which is the one I know the least, we haven't been able to connect with anyone who's attended there. We have visited the schools, but it's often hard to really tell from a 1.5 hour tour.

I liked everything I saw at Curry College, but the online reviews are quite scathing. My son thought that the physical campus was too spread out, that it would be hard tramping from one side of campus to the other in the cold. It's also the most expensive of the schools. Iona seemed the most sophisticated of the group (for better or for worse), but while my son got accepted at the college, he did not get into the LD program, so will probably scratch that off his list. St. Thomas Aquinas seems friendly and supportive, but also kind of stuck in the middle of nowhere, with everyone leaving the campus on weekends -- 90% of the students have cars, which we can't afford for him. I also wonder if the school has a cohesive community/campus atmosphere. And Centenary? For some reason my son felt comfortable there, but it seems rinky dink to me - the webpage is not very good, I get the impression that they offer more than they can deliver. And again, not sure if there is a good community feel, or if it's more like a commuter school.

Thanks so much for any feedback! (Also, if there is a better place to post this inquiry, please let me know)
