Small LACs with likely merit

Roanoke college should come in under 30k. Susquehanna, Ohio Wesleyan, and Ursinus all came in under that for my D that just got accepted. College of Wooster is slightly above that but your D could probably get their highest merit award. Depauw came in around $34k. My D’s stats are not as good as yours.

She didn’t apply but St Lawrence is supposed to be generous and St Mary’s of MD would be another one to look at.

@homerdog Top merit at Dickinson is $35k so that might make the budget. Grinnell is $25k.

Trinity in Tx. She would likely get to a coa of 30 with autoish merit and be invited to compete for Towers to compete for higher awards.

@wisteria100 just checked. Dickinson is $71k and $74k with books, etc. I think that $35k scholarship is new! When S19 applied, there were no application scholarships that required extra essays. Top merit was $20k. The $35k scholarship requires a separate application.

Lebanon Valley is another great LAC in PA, near Hershey. About $57k but auto merit should be at least $27k with those stats. It’s very popular by us. They have a quick merit calculator on their website.

Ursinus for sure. They offer the Zacharaias and Gateway scholarships which can be as much as $40,000 a year.

.

Just saw this. Up to $41,000 renewable for merit at Beloit ??. They are usually kind with financial aid also.

Hobart and William Smith. They have merit scholarships that range from $20k-full tuition (excluding R&B). Several are in the $30k-$35k range. There is a separate scholarship application.

My wife did her pre med undergrad at Beloit. They were very kind to her.
St. Olaf will tend to have a lot of Minnesota kids. It is a good school in a nice town shared with Carleton, and the Twin cities are less than an hour away.

Thank you to everyone who has posted on this thread. You’ve given us a good number of school to add to our research list!

Hood has announced a full-tuition merit scholarship. Apply by January 1 https://www.hood.edu/admission-aid/financial-aid/scholarships/chair-board-scholarships?fbclid=IwAR0EDGvWV-1QILUekfZAQhW5fYAhfjRu29JHPjbpwnLvpF1WodwjEdBQLmM

Thanks for the information about the new scholarship at Hood College. Does anyone know why, even if test optional, they don’t share SAT/ACT scores?
