I'm currently at a small school right now, and I'm not really loving it. Mostly because I feel like it doesn't offer enough social opportunities to students like, maybe a larger school would. I'm very outgoing, and made friends easily here, but they aren't really sticking because there isn't much to do with them except drink and get high because it's a small school in a small town. I feel like at a large school, I would be able to do more than that and have more opportunities to make more friends. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Can you define your opinion of small vs large? Is small 500 students, 2000 students? Is big 15,000, 30,000?

Small, or where I’m at now, is about 2,000 students. Big is probably 10,000 or more, but probably not too more, no more than 30k

Does your current college have a larger population than your high school did? I’ve always thought it best to go to a college larger than high school just so the world around you appears expanded. Otherwise you see the same people too often, just like HS.

Yeah, but I see the same people here all the time. It’s probably twice the size of high school, but I still feel like it’s too small. I need a large community, that’s more city like. I’ve lived out in the country most of my life, and all that time I’ve despised it. I don’t know what made me choose this school except pressure to choose a school.

I think you have expressed the solution to your concerns. Transfer if that is feasible.

I agree with the transfer idea
