Okay, don't get me wrong I love all you exeter, andover, Deerfield etc people and I could NOT be happier for you.:D

But I want to know if anyone else is going off to a smaller, less well-known BS, like my Asheville School.
It's a great school and after a bit of grief over my $$ waitlists for all my TSAO choices. I think that I have found, in Asheville, my own personal hogwarts:).
Asheville makes me happy, point blank.:)
has anyone else found a little haven that seems it was made for you, outside of the TSAO, and other well-publicised schools?

Yup...Stoneleigh's been amazing for me...my friends are amazing, the faculty is soooo supportive. I've grown and matured so much thanks to the people here and I'm gonna miss it so much when I graduate, even though some days I can't wait to get out. I love the fact that everyone knows my name, that I can't hide. I actually get noticed...that never happened in my public school of 1000 kids. I don't think I'll ever regret my decision to go.

D, glad to see you feeling good about asheville. i checked it out online and it looks like a great school. math and science are my favorites so i go right to the numbers and results:

this list of colleges attended by last year's class is great. 10 out of 44 students going to "ivy" level schools. i noticed several students go from there go to black colleges like howard where my uncle went. more than other lists i have seen.

do good work here and you can write your ticket.

My son will either be attending Putney or NMH. He definitely preferred smaller schools (NMH was the only larger school he wanted to attend -- wants to play football). I think that when you find a school that really fits you, that is truly where you need to go.

Masters has about 400 students. It has a low percentage of boarders, but I really love the location, and the community. I hope get my letter tomorrow!!!!!!!!

dazz, sports are important to me but the feel of the school is even more important. what if i get hurt? it would stink to be stuck at a school i hate and not be able to play sports.

I had a friend whose wife went to Asheville many years ago. That is when I first learned about the school. It is a great school in a beautiful location. While we all envy the history, quality and tradition of the top New England BS, there are MANY other excellent schools across the country and they are seeking boarding students. Often, their location has left them with empty dorms. Don't limit yourself if you didn't get into the school of your choice. you will find a great school for you!
