My roomie and I are trying to decide on how to share a fridge and microwave. Either we split the cost of both.... but then who takes what after the year is over and we don't wanna be roomies the next year? OR one buys the fridge and the other buys the microwave....but the fridge costs a lot more! Ownership is obvious there, but I wouldn't want her paying more and I'm sure she'd feel the same for me. What should we do???

Have one of you buy the fridge and the other buy a microwave and some other stuff, like carpets/extension cords/curtains/a vacuum, stuff like that so that the cost evens out.

You each pay for half when you buy it. Then whoever wants to take it home at the end of the year pays the other person whatever they paid back. And if neither of you want it, junk it.

Man thats confusing.

can't you rent one?

The only place I knew that rented both things didn't deliver to my school (it's only delivery, there's no place where I can pick it up)...I'm looking right now for other places...

senior, that would be a great idea, but what if they BOTH want it for next year? definitely try to rent one, or have the person who brings the tv bring a dvd/vcr player too..anything to even it out!

that is a good idea indeed, because she IS bringing a TV and I'm not....I'll see what she thinks...thanks guys!!

oh woa, I got confused, yea the good idea was for Dima....but Senior's was great too! However the whole "what if we both want it" did come up..so, I just gave her the game plan, we'll see what happens.
