<p>There are some unis and colleges in small towns which I'm hesitant to add to my list for fear there won't be many internship/work opportunities. Is this fear legitimate, or are there opportunities in small towns?</p>
<p>Fewer opportunities - and less competition for them. On the other hand, most internships are over the summer anyway and anyone can apply. To some extent it also depends on what area you are interested in. Medical-volunteering internships are available everywhere in the country. If you are interested in the film industry, you probably need to look at some specific cities.</p>
