Smaller Engineering (esp EE) schools

I'm looking for a smaller (less than 7,000) school that offers Electrical Engineering, yet has a decent Liberal Arts bent as well (I enjoy writing). I searched, but the list is so long, and I've never heard of most of the schools.

Any thoughts? I am less concerned about location, SAT mid 1600s but I'm going to retake it, GPA 3.5. Good extracurriculars.

Stanford and MIT have EE and good liberal arts, but probably are not realistic with a 3.5 HS GPA.

University of San Diego is small and makes you take plenty of liberal arts classes. Dual degree with BA/BS. I took a tour and while the engineering facilities are small, they are nice and it felt like people knew everyone around them.

Mid-1600s SAT limits you a lot for engineering schools. Is the math score high relative to CR and Writing? Is there a particular region of the country you want to be in? What state are you in? (Your in-state public school options are probably the first ones to consider.) What is your financial situation - How much can your parents afford to pay? Will you qualify for need-based financial aid?

WPI is small and is the **only **test-optional engineering school, in case you don’t get your SAT score up. The liberal arts offerings are not as vast as in a larger school but they might be enough to keep you happy.
