smaller scholarships?

Did USC announce who gets the smaller scholarhips yet? I got my acceptance letter last week but it doesn't say anything about the Dean's or other smaller scholarships...

or in another words, did anyone get any notifications for scholarships other than the Trustee and Presidential?

I don't think so.

yes, i got deans scholarship back in february

I was a finalist for one of the smaller scholarships, and I`m still waiting to hear.

Did anybody else get deans scholarship?

Yes, D received Dean's scholarship in February.

I received Dean's in middle of March.

They may include smaller scholarships in the fin aid package. I haven't seen any departmental awards at all yet and I believe they exist. I know UCs include scholarship amounts in fin aid awards, maybe USC does the same.

Dean's in February.

D's FA just posted, she got a small merit award, not Dean's. We were hoping for more but will take whatever they give us, 'cause it goes straight to the bottom line

really? where is it posted?

the usual place: https://afa.usc.edu/AFA/login.jsf

P.S. Does anyone know if USC will entertain "matching" merit money? D is ineligible for FA, but has somewhat higher merit awards from a couple of comparable institutions, and a much higher merit award from a mid-tier school. Is it worth it even trying to contact the FA office and provide copies of the other two awards and see if they choose to play ball?

Groovy, I saw some info in the Financial Aid forum on precisely such a question. I'm afraid I can't direct you to the particular topic (can't remember, maybe was about a week ago) but there was some good advice. All I can remember is that someone said that universities don't like to "negotiate" per se, but comparing with a comparable college is fine, in that one could explain the desire and preference for the target college but are afraid you can't meet the costs etc. Hope you can find it.

Aah, thanks, here it is for reference: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/478938-can-you-negotiate-more-scholarship-grant-money.html
