smart ID's???

what are they exactly? i think only NJ kids have them. is just our school ID numbers??

NJ Smart ID Numbers are NOT your school ID number. I went to Guidance specifically about this (I assume you are asking with relation to Rutgers), and she called her friend Helen at Rutgers. Helen is an Admissions Counselor, and here is the response that we got. Last year, towards the end of the year, the state issued a mandate to all schools to start issuing ID numbers to all students in the state. As a result, this only applies to all NJ residents. This number should be on your transcript, or at the very worst, in your school's computer system. It should be a 10 digit number IIRC. Furthermore, some schools have not gotten around to issuing them yet. If you are in that boat, don't worry about it, and move on. This is just another useless paperwork item for our beleaguered state.

thanks for ur response ayeles...i'm gonna go to the guidance tomorrow and ask 'em specifically about it. sigh...guidance never does anything at my school
