Hi,
I’m a sophomore college student (working on an Associates right now with plans to transfer for a BS, then onto a Masters) majoring in Mathematics. I’m really interested in the SMART scholarship, but I don’t know what I should focus on when applying. For example, I’m a somewhat new student in mathematics - I have no real areas of interest for research. I would be very interested in research or teaching, anything in the field pretty much, but I don’t know if that would come across in a good light. I’ll also be somewhat young - around 19 - when I plan to apply, so I don’t know if that would be something to my detriment. I’m really serious about competing for this scholarship, but I nervous about missing something that I didn’t know they were looking for. Anybody who’s applied/gotten it, or knows about it, do you have any tips?
