Yeah, and unfortunately patience really isn’t my strong suit. Ah well - just two days to go!

Seems they were a little more serious about the hear back date this time around waiting until the last second and all.

Yeah no kidding. Has anyone heard back from them yet? I still haven’t received anything, and I’m getting super antsy.

This was the e-mail I just received from the SMART Scholarship program. Did anyone else get this e-mail???

"Thank you for applying for the SMART Scholarship for Service Program. Although we had hoped to provide a final update on your status on this date we are currently unable to do so. The SMART Program Office is working with the Resource Sponsor on final determination of the SMART program budgets for fiscal year 2010 and beyond.

Final determination is expected shortly and the notice of additional selections is expected by Wednesday, April 22nd. We will update you by that date on your status. We appreciate your patience.

Thank you,

The ASEE SMART Scholarship Team"

argggh…REALLY??

I got the exact same message. For all this waiting and postponing of our notification, I hope that means something good will come out of this. At least it seems like they are working really hard to make sure they can take on as many qualified applicants as possible, so that’s a good sign. I think other scholarship organizations would have closed by now, but it seems like they’re gonna keep accepting til they really don’t have any more money to give out. That’s nice… although, I think that’s also the nature of the military… (I remember walking into a Navy recruitment office one day, and after that, they wouldn’t leave me alone! Offered to drive me to school, meet with my parents at home, meet me in a cafe… highly persistant).

Okay, well… I guess I’ll be back on the 22nd. Have fun waiting, everyone, as I will try to do myself… and good luck!

Yep, same news for me but I agree with chikaboomm - I think its a good sign and that they really are trying hard to accept as many of us as possible. Back to waiting… And good luck again everyone!

…And tomorrow we do it again. Good luck everyone, keep us posted.

I received an email saying that I was an alternate and now I have one that says they make the final choice on the 22 based on their financial situation so i am wondering if they choose some of the alternates and wanted to give it to them but they wanted to ensure that they had enough money.

You mean they sent you another email today? (The 22nd?)… How would they know your financial situation? I don’t remember there being a financial aid portion on the application. I haven’t gotten an email yet.

Oh blah, nevermind. I read your post wrong. I’ve been monitoring this scholarship so long, I guess my eyes are going loopy and reading what I want to see, hehe (o.O)…

anyone hear anything yet?

Nope… and it’s driving me crazy! I’m just hoping they don’t extend the wait again.

omg I have never been so ancy!! It could be any minute…

I am only trying to think positive, aaahhh !!

lol, aren’t their offices closed now?

yeah I think so …

I just got an email… No dice for me. The way they worded it made it sound like they might potentially be giving out a few more, but I doubt it… :(

yeaaaa :-/ im really worried and I hope things change. But that email just hurt a little bit

I’m probably just going to cling to the hope that I might still get an email offering an award. I hope they send out another definitive email in a few weeks saying that they’ve completely stopped giving out awards for sure (or that I’ve been given an award) or I’ll go on hoping, no matter how futile I know it’ll be.

I’m still waiting…I really wish I could just find out a definite answer, all this waiting is making me go crazy!
